Special Guests

The people who create, inspire and help bring the worlds we love to life.

PHX Met Con brings together artists, creators and special guests whose work has made an impact on their industries, their fans and their communities.

Some you’ll recognize from the work they’ve created. Others have been part of our story for years. All of them bring something special to PHX Met Con.

Meet the guests joining us January 30, 2027.

TONY PARKER

Comic Book Artist • Illustrator • Creator

PHX Met Con is proud to welcome acclaimed comic book artist and illustrator Tony Parker as a Special Guest.

A multiple Eisner-nominated artist, Tony’s career includes work for Marvel, Dark Horse, Image, Disney, Sony, IDW and BOOM! Studios, with credits including God of War, Mass Effect, Godzilla, Conan and Warhammer.

Tony is also the creator of Medusa, his creator-owned graphic novel published by Dark Horse Comics. Written and illustrated by Tony, Medusa reimagines the legendary figure from Greek mythology as an ageless hero who has spent thousands of years protecting humanity while cursed to be remembered as a monster.

MORE THAN 20 YEARS OF HISTORY

Tony’s connection to PHX Met Con goes beyond his work as an artist.

I first met Tony in 2004 on a flight home from San Diego Comic-Con. We struck up a conversation, and during that flight Tony took my sketchbook and created an incredible drawing for my son.

More than 20 years later, my son still has that drawing.

It was a simple act of kindness, but it told me a lot about Tony. He was a great guy then, and after knowing him for more than two decades, I can tell you he’s still that same guy.

I’ve had the privilege of watching his career grow from the artist I met on that flight to an accomplished comic creator whose work has reached fans around the world.

Tony has also become part of our story. Over the years, he contributed his talent to promotional artwork for Superhero Saturday, helping bring the event to life through his art. Now, as we begin a new chapter with the inaugural PHX Met Con, Tony has once again contributed his artwork to help launch the event.

That drawing from 2004 is still a reminder to me of what conventions and the comic book community are really about. Yes, it’s comics, artists, cosplay and collecting. But it’s also the people you meet, the connections you make and the memories that stay with you long after the event is over.

That’s what we want PHX Met Con to be about: comics, creativity, community and good people.

Tony represents all of those things, and I couldn’t think of a better person to help us begin this new chapter.

I’m proud to welcome my longtime friend Tony Parker as a Special Guest of the inaugural PHX Met Con.

Welcome to PHX Met Con, Tony. We’re glad to have you with us.
